2011 Annual Meeting Awards-November 20, 2011

Bill Boyd receives a lifetime membership to The Saint Andrew's Society in recognition for his many years of service and dedication, at the Annual Meeting held on November 20, 2011.

Bernice Rogers was awarded the President's Award for her service above and beyond.

Kathy Johnson was recognized for her years of service as Society secretary.
From Ken McCaffrey, Vice President-
Good day!
I just hand this handed to me by our Chief of Legislative Affairs who happens to be of Welsh extraction and who also knows I am deep into the Celtic Culture. He just said this is a bill I think you need to review. I just naturally thought it has something to do with Security or Workplace Violence and he wanted me to review it for DHS which I do as part of my position, then I read it:
A bill introduced by Representative Raymond Poe (5 ILCS 460/95) Introduced 1/31/2012
Synopsis as introduced:
Amends the State Designations Act. Designates the Illinois Saint Andrews Society Tartan as the official tartan of the State of Illinois effective immediately.
I am not sure which tartan he is thinking of but since he is our local rep I would think he is thinking of our tartan as opposed to any tartans used by other St Andrew’s Societies. Not sure if this will go through as I suspect those Chicago reps may have something to say about which tartan should be designated. I will try to keep you all in the loop. If I hear any more on this.
Still all in all this is pretty cool!
Ken
